I heard once that it's not ok to trim baby's fingernails. Is it true? Or superstition?

Not ok as in Halacha? Minhag? Or safety? The first few weeks it’s really hard to trim without cutting into the skin but after that it’s not a problem

I always knew the first 40 days. Ppl that don't cut after that do it mainly to prevent the nails from getting too strong and sharp. But if it bothers you, rhen definitely cut it. Just know you'll have another task every week or so

@lucyisesspektin,
first 40 days you can cover their hands, or keep them swaddled. It usually starts coming off by itself after a few days anyways, so I help it along...

Yes, trim or file so they don’t hurt themselves

I bring a nail file to the hospital. my babies are born with really long and sharp nails. one even has a scar from scratching himself right after he was born.

It's not superstition. I had a nurse in hospital give a whole lecture to my non Jewish roommate. Baby nails the first month are really soft, like skin. And you shouldn't cut it. We usually cut after 30 days.
