Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain) (2024)

@LordRoustabout I made a master post with all the listed for ease of writing

Ok I spent way too much time on this but here we go
ill add the cookbooks as they are semi-canon when it comes to food in the setting

first I made some rules here

  • only things that are foods, some old military menus included cigarettes, but this isn't really a food, so potions and drugs don't count
  • human meat probably won't count, Venus in Anita battle angel had genetically engineered humans made to serve as a food source (yes, like the torsos of rick and Morty) but I will just put a lid on Joe eating anything even remotely simian or sapient for peace of mind, even though there is a good chance some of his lives ate human flesh
  • he can only eat things from cultures he was actually a part of
  • most regular versions of earth are unremarkable in their content, like there isn't that meaningful difference between fast and furious cuisine and earth Bet
  • Joe is good enough a genetic manipulation that anything with DNA can be cloned back, especially seeds and fresh meat, but he can't uncook a chicken or unsalt a pork
  • the last point isn't very relevant as raw meat is still an ingredient, and maybe even live speciemtns as live animals were bought as is, but most future foods may be too processed for that, cant make a cow out of a whey bar and all

sci-fi worlds (high quality foods and food processing, could have foods we don't even know about as gastronomic sciences advance):

Dune

since all things from arakis have small traces of Spice mélange if you get even a random hare meat it will contain spice in it, thats assuming that Joe lived in arakkis, which is of course the more interesting route

no, the biggest possible upset is that juvenile sand worms are a delicacy enjoy by freeman, so there is a serious possibility that Joe may get even a small amount of DNA from giant sand worms, which in turn gives him access to the Spice but more importantly the waters of life

the waters of life may be the singularly most powerful combat drug ever devised, it gives you the knowledge of all your ancestors, it gives you an almost infinite and invaluable amount of combat knowledge

It's by far the only thing I can see Tybalt putting his foot down and insisting on taking, since the only downside to it is immediate death, which doesn't apply to him

Warhammer

actually more well known for its alcohols then its foods, which checks out, Grox are actualy said to be very delicious, like what myths make Galápagos tortoise sound like, but in a galaxy this vast almost any food probably exists

The Clone Wars
Cookbook 1
Cookbook 2
Cookbook 3

a wide and organized universe, there is a TON of food in Star Wars, almost too much to count, it legitimately may include midiclorians if you ask for any meat

samurai jack

it will contain a lot of food as a result of just how eclectic the world is, it has aliens, talking dogs, magical peoples, robots, the variety of food must be immense

Star Trek
Star Trek Cookbook

contain a lot of food, especially from other species, since it seems that food tastes never left the 1990s, but there is still some good in it

Fallout
cookbook

Nuka cola quantum is one of the best fuels possible, it can actively increase the yeld of nuclear bombs and just putting in a water gun allows it to kill a person
now granted the kerbals may have better fuels but nuka cola quantum also lasts an absurd amount of time, 200 years is nothing to scoff at for any type of fuel, even most nuclear ones
actualy since strontium loses half its potency every 30 years and its been 200 by Fallout 4 real fresh Quantum should be 6x stronger than we see in game
mutfruit
the mutated fern is actually botanically interesting, it's a fern that evolved flowers and fruits due to the nuclear blast
Tato plants have both the qualities of tomatos and potatos

Futurama

bacon flavor bubblegum
Slurm
Popplers (which Joe wouldn't eat)
spice wasels
LöBrau a beer that lasted 1000 years in production
Space honey (a very potent muscle relaxant/sleeping aid)
extract of taste (LSD)

Sonic the hedgehog (cookbook)
Mass Effect
mostly earth foods, but there is a lot of potential for alien food

Transformers (energon)

Splatoon (their food is a horrible mix of fast foods, but as a college student, Joe will appreciate it)

Alpha Cenaturi (the native Flora and fauna, I think you may be able to wring nourishment from the red fungus)

Destiny (Cookbook)

Halo (this cookbook was surrounded in controversy as the studio ignored fans completely and proceeded to release random stuff, there was the cookbook and the shoes I think)

Assassin's Creed (Cookbook)

Lord of light ("Indian food" is a corpus that extends thousands of years, that doesn't even scratch that most recepies from Indian history didn't survive to the modern world due to how few people write them down)

Anno 2070 (60 years of food innovation on earth bet, definitely has something tasty, works well with the progress ability)

fantasy worlds (different fauna and flora, probably magical)

Dwarf Fortress (entirely underground crops help a lot the kerbals in colonization of worlds without an atmosphere and rogue planets away from stars, it's some of the most interesting crops around)

skyrim
Skyrim Cookbook
this one stands out because of the massive amount of foods, and the magical and alchemical potential of certain foods

Forgotten Realms (this one again is by far the biggest one, there are mushrooms capable of sustaining civilizations, the sheer diversity of stuff in here is dizzying, one of the most expansive food setting out there)
it also has its own cookbook

Lord of the Rings (classic lambdas bread but also a lot of literally magical food from Numenor, if joe was from there)

Terraria (oh god so much stuff)

Minecraft (the milk alone is valuable, ironically Warhammer also has anti-poison milk, but it requires you to drink before ingesting poison)
Cookbook

Dinotopia (Specifically the life extending tea and the kentrosaurus bagels)

Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain) (1)

Akame ga Kill (Danger beast meat, it is hunted down and can be used to determine the best traits for a teigu)

World of Warcraft
Cookbook 1
Cookbook 2

Dragon Age
Cookbook

Lone Wolf series (fantasy series with its own continents, a lot of varied food)
Laumspur is a healing herb but can specifically also count as a meal, another thing to the healing pile

Harry Potter
Cookbook
lots of interesting ingredients that contain a lot of magic, very useful in its massive collection of foods

Fallen London (lots of food, but the wiki is a nightmare to navigate, mostly regular food, souls don't count as Joe probably never ate it)

Wakfu

Adventure Time
Adventure time Cookbook

The Witcher
Cookbook

Mythological worlds (mostly standard ingredients or one-off special things):
god of war (Cookbook)
Age of mythology
Percy Jackson
The Banner Saga

JRPGs (these I know the least about, but I know they generally always have some food to them)

Monster hunter
I have an entire goddam playlist on this one

Journey to the west (standard peaches of immortality)

Ar Tonelico

Atelier: Arland Trilogy

Kingdom Hearts (he can have THE ratatouille from ratatouille)

Ragnarök Online

general final fantasies:
Final Fantasy VI
Final Fantasy 13
Final Fantasy XIV
drinks of final fantasy
Dissidia

Chrono Trigger (foods there restore HP)

Fire Emblem (each fire emblem game has a lot of food)

Etrian Odyssey

Dark Cloud 2

Aion: The Tower of Eternity

Jade Cocoon (old world with a very different culture and fauna)

Tales of Symphonia

Recettear

Cave Story(edible flowers)

Skies of Arcadia
